The reporters learnt from the training course of psychological test for the enrollment of cadets for military universities and schools that the military universities and schools would, for the first time, put the candidates going through psychological tests for the enrollment, which method was introduced on the basis of the two-year pilot researches.
The psychological test for the enrollment of cadets for military universities and schools aims at testing the professional adaptability of the candidates and will mainly focus on the tests of personalities and mental health conditions of the candidates. The psychological test includes computer test and structural psychological interview. All the questions will be multiple-choice ones and will require the candidates to answer them via computer. The structural psychological interviews are carried out after the candidates finished answering their test questions. Then the decision will be made on whether the candidates have passed the psychological tests in light of the Psychological Standards for Selecting Officers included in the Physical Test Standards of Enrolling Cadets for Military Universities and Schools issued in April 2006.
Importance has been attached to psychological test by more and more countries' armed forces while selecting servicemen. Psychological test was first adopted by the Chinese armed forces in the 1950s as an important means in choosing pilots and astronauts. From the winter of 2006 on, the psychological test has been included in the physical test for the nation-wide recruitments of servicemen. On May 23-25, relevant personnel from 140 physical test centers of China flocked to the Fourth Military Medical University to receive the trainings of psychological test for enrolling candidates for military universities and schools. The psychological test for the enrollment of cadets of military universities and schools will be carried out in June.
